"There is a false idea that racism - and in this case, anti-blackness - is just name-calling and physical violence when it is so much more insidious than that."
We should all fight for an Anti-Racism future TOGETHER.
To members of the Black community, our hearts are broken for and with you. As you grieve and process your pain, we want you to know that you are seen and heard.
To all non-Black people out there, if you haven’t done so already, please join us in taking immediate action for the Black community. Dismantling racism is the job of those of us who have privilege, so let’s get to work!
In this supposedly current modern world, it has taken the catastrophic murder of George Floyd for the global community to wake up to the in-equality people face daily.
Everyone deserves fundamental human rights from having enough food to eat to the right to live a life free from discrimination, fear and racial injustice.
Problems get deeper when good communication ceases or fails. We all are responsible for our actions. Education is key. We need to learn and educate ourselves about why this event happened? What is the background that led to this life being stolen? How could a life be treated less valuable than another? And why should any child be taught that they might not get the same opportunities in life because of their ethnicity or skin colour?
To help us all learn from this event, we have collated work and words of activists that we have found have helped us understand what we can do to drive towards an anti-racist world, which is full of equal opportunities. We all need to learn from each other, if you have any more to share, please comment below or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
